During the Bangladesh national bank heist, external hackers sent wiring instructions to transfer out nearly 1 billion USD, with the help of bank insiders. 80 million was ultimately transferred before someone at a corresponding bank noticed a misspelled transfer request, leading to numerous high-level resignations.
